How to Make a Window Dance Video From One Photo
How to do the Window Dance trend from one photo: what happens second by second, which photo to use, where the music comes from, and what it costs.
Window Dance is the dancing version of the Window Peeper trend. The camera drifts toward a lit window at night, you are dancing inside, you notice you are being filmed, slow down with a cheeky smile and pull the curtain shut.
You do not have to dance or film anything. Upload one photo to the Window Dance generator and it renders a new 10-second clip of you dancing at the window.
Quick answer
- Open Window Dance. The dance scene is already selected.
- Upload one clear photo of yourself, ideally waist-up or full body.
- Pick 720p or 480p and generate. It usually takes 2 to 6 minutes.
- Download the 10-second, 9:16 video with music and post it.
What does our test look like?
The cover of this guide is our own test: the AI-generated portrait we uploaded on the left, a frame of the finished video on the right. This is the full result, made at Standard 480p:
Your photo will give a different person and slightly different moves. The example shows what the scene does, not a copy of your result.
What happens in the Window Dance video?
The scene runs a prepared prompt with fixed timing. The whole prompt is on the prompt page.
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 0–2 s | The camera moves toward a lit window in a dark brick building. A small speaker sits by the window. |
| 2–6 s | You dance on the beat: knee bounces, fist pumps, arm swings and small steps. |
| 6–8 s | You notice the camera, slow to a shoulder groove, fold your hands and give a cheeky smile. |
| 8–10 s | You turn and pull the curtain shut. Warm light still shows behind it. |
The whole clip is one continuous shot from outside the window, with no cuts.
Which song does the Window Dance video use?
The video comes with an original upbeat electronic beat with no vocals, playing from the speaker in the room. It is not the song from the TikTok trend. If you want a specific trending sound, add it in TikTok or CapCut after you download, and turn the original audio down.
How do I make it step by step?
1. Choose a photo. One person, face visible, even light. Waist-up or full body helps most here, because the model has to move your arms and body, not only your face.
2. Pick a quality. High quality 720p uses a stronger model and gives a sharper picture. Standard 480p is cheaper and fine for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
3. Buy a pack if your balance is empty. Packs hold 1, 3 or 8 videos of one quality. Pay once, no subscription, and unused videos do not expire.
4. Generate. It usually takes 2 to 6 minutes. You can close the page; the video is saved in My Creations.
5. Check it and post. Watch it first, then download it and add your caption.
What photo works best?
- One person only. A second person in the photo can confuse who dances.
- Face fully visible: no sunglasses, mask or hair across the face.
- Your clothes visible. The dancer keeps the outfit from your photo.
- No beauty filter, text or sticker.
- JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB.
Only upload a photo of yourself or of an adult who agreed to it.
Can I do Window Dance in CapCut?
Not with your own face in the window. CapCut has no official Window Peeper template, and the user-made ones put your photo into fixed footage. The Window Peeper CapCut guide compares the template, a manual edit and the one-photo route. You can still edit the downloaded video in CapCut.
Why does my video look different from the example?
- The moves are different. The prompt sets the kind of dance, not every step. Each generation dances a little differently.
- The face is less sharp while dancing. Fast movement blurs faces in AI video, as in a real phone video. 720p keeps more detail.
- The smile comes early or late. The timing in the table is the target; the model can drift by a fraction of a second.
A failed generation returns its video to your balance automatically. A result you do not like is not a failure, so another try uses another video.
How much does it cost?
| Quality | 1 video | 3 videos | 8 videos |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard 480p | $6.60 | $16.60 | $36.60 |
| High quality 720p | $9.90 | $24.90 | $59.90 |
A video from a pack works with every scene of the same quality. Within 7 days of a purchase you can request a refund in Settings, minus the videos already made. Pricing has the details.
